About
Teaching how to Thank Rock & Water
At just ten years old. Scott, an Indigenous DaNakota Ho Chunk, was an activist for Grandmother Earth.
‘My parents took me to a protest takeover at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota, a federal military base that was supposed to be returned to a nearby tribe.’
As members of the American Indian Movement, they helped win back the right to speak their language, practice their ancient way of life, ceremonies, and gain back lands forcibly taken from them to steward as they have done for millions of years.
Scott is the founder of WhereBisonRoam.com, restoring the health of the Great Plains through the reintroduction of bison and other species. He teaches Indigenous wisdom, wellness and Oyate Omniciye, ‘Men and Women Gathered in a Circle,’ ancient governing and true democracy, and Circle Facilitation.
PHILOSOPHY
Experiential Teaching
‘My vision is to have everyone love Grandmother Earth as I do. And the way we are brought up in our traditional understandings is to thank Rock and Water, Sun and Moon, everything that gives us life. They are our relatives. And we take care of them because they take care of us.’
