Additionally, he will be available for individual, group, and corporate concierge health and wellness consultation.
Prior to joining Monarch Athletic Club, Dr. Greene earned his Master’s of Science (M.S.) degree in Exercise Physiology, Immunology and Human Nutrition at University of Illinois (Urbana/Champaign). He then completed post-graduate medical training at Dartmouth and The Mayo Clinic in which he collaborated with a wide array of leading medical experts culminating in numerous published research efforts.
We have shifted in traditional clinical medicine as I originally trained from healers such as Hippocrates originally described to a collection of disease managers. We have reduced treating the human body in traditional western medicine primarily into a reductionist mentality in which the human body is described and treated based on the organ system in which the specialist one is seeing has previously trained.
To our credit, specifically in the United States, one suffering from an acute or traumatic illness will receive the best care available and often deleterious outcomes may be avoided. The focus on prevention has been marginalized as capitalization from preventive intervention is not as profitable as would be providing an FDA approved medication. That being said, adapting to a chronic state of illness is not satisfactory when our understanding of prevention is so advanced yet so often utilized.
I utilize evidence-based, objective intervention drawing upon the foundations of both functional and integrative medicine and traditional western principles while employing the age-old and anecdotally notable components of traditional eastern and holistic practices to optimize human performance. I believe health and wellness can be maximized by focusing on exercise, nutrition, sleep/recovery, metabolic balance, and optimizing epigenetic components when able.
