- Meditation Instructor
- Mindfulness-based Psychotherapist
Ferny started down the path of a helper long ago. She has always felt a strong connection to the process of helping through connecting deeply with the stories of others. Even as a young girl, she felt strongly drawn to knowing about how other people's minds worked, finding herself intrigued by how the human mind and heart worked. Ferny is a vinyasa yoga and meditation teacher in Austin, Texas, where she teaches exclusively at Wanderlust Yoga.
She has been practicing for over a decade, and has trained extensively under teachers such as Janet Stone, Gioconda Parker, and Erin Dudley. Her classes are infused with both energizing and creative sequencing, as well as spiritual and meditative elements.
Her workshops focus on helping students build mindfulness & meditation practices, daily self-care rituals, and encouraging deep self-inquiry work. Ferny is also a mindfulness-based psychotherapist, and owner of her own private practice, Mind Body Peace.
She received her Master's in Counseling in 2012, and furthered her education through trainings in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and research in self-compassion therapy. She works to help her clients find healing through understanding their highest values, working past old fears and stories through present-moment awareness, and cultivating a higher sense of self-acceptance and self-compassion.
