Erica Matluck is a Naturopathic Doctor, Nurse Practitioner and holistic coach. She is also the founder of Seven Senses, a unique philosophy of care. She has extensive training and experience in both conventional and alternative approaches to healthcare and is an expert in integrative medicine.
With a strong commitment to providing accessible holistic care, she began practicing at One Medical in San Francisco in 2011. Over the next 8 years, in addition to clinical practice she took on many different roles to promote integrative and lifestyle medicine within the organization. She designed wellness content for corporate partners and has delivered presentations and workshops at dozens of prominent companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2015, she served as the interim clinical director of integrative medicine at One Medical nationally.
In 2013 she began seeing patients in groups, and the profound therapeutic impact of group work changed her career. Since then she has facilitated countless transformational groups, scaled stress, anxiety and emotional wellbeing programs nationally, and trained many other healthcare providers in mind-body techniques and group facilitation.
Her passion for health and wellness began very young. By 19 years old, she was a certified Reiki master offering energy work to other college students. She studied anthropology and pre-med at Oberlin College, and spent her undergraduate years studying the intersection of culture and health. Erica traveled all over the world exploring how people in various cultures heal. Prior to pursuing medicine, she practiced and taught massage therapy and energy work throughout the world. She has been practicing yoga since 1999, and teaching yoga and meditation for many years. All of these perspectives inform her work.
Working with Erica is not like working with most healthcare providers or coaches. She offers a uniquely holistic lens and a variety of therapeutic modalities. She works in partnership with her clients and the work is not limited to times of physical discomfort or illness. The process is about redefining what wellbeing means and addressing the physical, mental, emotional and energetic obstacles in the way.
Seven Senses is an approach to looking at health and illness as a practice of self-exploration, as opposed to a problem in need of a solution. Through retreats or private consultations, we explore how the chakra system of the subtle body influences their physical health and gain tools to achieve a greater sense of well-being and prevent future illness. When we start to approach our health through this lens, there are no limits to how we can feel. Well-being becomes more than the absence of physical ailments, but rather optimizing our physical, emotional, mental and energetic experiences. We can create the kind of health that radiates into all areas of our lives, transforming our careers, relationships, communities and beyond. Erica truly believes that everyone has the ability to thrive, and when we are all in this state our collective potential is infinite.
