My desire to become a physician goes back to an episode in an emergency room when I was seven years old. I was fascinated watching the ER doctor suture a deep laceration on my right knee that I had received while playing in an empty lot. My life has taken many twists and turns since then. University studies in philosophy and psychology, a master's degree in psychology and then medical school. My studies in psychology allowed me to appreciate the uniqueness of the homeopathic approach and my selection of osteopathic medical school further supported the idea of treating the entire person.
Holistic Medicine is not simply alternative medicine which merely replaces the types of substances which are used during treatment while the perspective of the practitioner remains the same old medical model. Neither is it complementary medicine which just adds alternative treatment modalities to conventional medical practice. Holistic Medicine is a multidimensional view of healing which understands that people are more than physical beings alone. We are also mental, emotional and spiritual beings living in a complex cultural and environmental context. I practice is a unique integration of the healing arts of traditional osteopathy and classical homeopathy both of which address health concerns in a multi-dimensional way. My homeopathic remedy selection and case management is guided by my osteopathic perception of subtle energies in the body .
