I developed Your Life Lab and Life Lab Goods to help people live the lives they want to live, the way they want to live them. The world is a better place when we are all creative and thriving. And honestly this business gets me doing that right along side. Imagine a growing tribe of people reconnecting to the creativity they were born with, making all kinds of cool things happen. We can all tinker and create in the labs that are our lives - individually and collectively, hatching ideas, trying them out, tinkering some more, until voilá, good stuff happens. If this process were easy I wouldn't have created Your Life Lab. The reality is that it can be hard to reconnect with what is essentially you. Fear, doubt, focus and "practicality" all make it hard to stay creative and true to yourself. My goal is to make it help people make that happen.

I starting "learning" about the idea of our power to shape our lives as a kid, although I didn't know it at the time. I was just playing, trying stuff and making things, learning as I went. In high school I remember learning that (one) we have the power to create our response to stress and (two) how we do that has a dramatic impact on our lives. That one simple sounding, but complex idea, launched a lifelong interest in positive psychology and what makes us thrive. Along the way I earned a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology. My learning hasn't all been in classrooms though. I know I need projects and learning challenges to keep me feeling balanced; those projects inspire, challenge and teach me so much. I believe in the power of learning by doing and teach this as well. In fact, the name for my business (your life lab) started with the idea that we're all in the labs that are our lives, tinkering, learning, adjusting and then tinkering again and again until we get where we want to be. Life is an evolution; a perpetual work in progress.

MA in Developmental Psychology from the University of Virginia; PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia; completion of the Mentor Coach Foundations course, I also learn so much every day from other people and from being a human myself.

    Years In Practice

I've been a psychologist and working to create change for over twenty years. I began shifting into a coaching business almost two years ago to broaden who I work with.

I'm currently working on a fall retreat focused on the idea of using all of your senses to move into balance.
