Today in the northern hemisphere is the Spring Equinox.
An equinox is the moment in which the plane of Earth's equator passes through the center of the Sun. On an equinox, day and night are of approximately equal duration all over the planet.
The days will be getting longer & warmer and our bodies will naturally be preparing for the change in season.
This is why it is perfect time to do some form of detox as naturally our bodies have the highest energy for pushing toxicity out of our cells.
Some simple 'detox' practices to consider:
HOT LEMON WATER EVERY MORNING
On an empty stomach, make sure you make it with equal parts hot water and cold water. The benefits are somewhat endless, ranging from: Helping digestion, stimulating immune system, balancing pH levels, cleanses skin, energy & mood boosting, fresh breath etc.
Allowing our digestive systems to rest can really aid in pushing out unfriendly toxins. A simple way of doing this is to make sure that your last meal before bed is small, and you leave at least 14 hours between dinner the night before, and breakfast the next day.
Centre your diet around alkalising whole foods, especially vegetable juices, green smoothies, raw soups and salads.
Get plenty of rest to leave your body maximum energy for its cleansing endeavours. Most importantly, aim to be in bed by 9pm every night, and asleep by 10 as your organs of elimination require those two hours of sleep before midnight in order to function optimally.
